The WTA’s Safety Management Council (SMC) mission is to provide safety professionals with up-to-date regulatory information, educational workshops and webinars, professional development, and opportunities to exchange ideas with industry peers. The SMC strives to advance highway safety for the trucking community and all Washington motorists through these efforts. 

The SMC holds monthly membership meetings the second Wednesday of each month, an annual Fall Safety Conference, an annual safety awards and recognition program in partnership with the Washington State Patrol, the Washington State Truck Driving Championship, and numerous in-person and virtual events throughout the year.
